About the opportunity
We are looking for an experienced, organised and dynamic Tender and Grants Lead to be at the forefront of our growth, collaborating with leaders across our organisation to prepare winning submissions.
Reporting to the Executive Team under the Marketing and Communications Manager, this role is pivotal to the ongoing success of Community Resources.
What You’ll Do:
Be the driver: Research and identify new opportunities that align with our vision, keeping us competitive and ahead of industry trends.
Collaborate and inspire: Work closely with our leadership and functional managers to craft high-quality, compelling submissions that highlight our mission, operational excellence, values, and capacity to deliver real outcomes.
Maintain key systems and processes: Oversee our submission management systems to ensure a smooth, efficient development and submission process
About you
You are an individual with boundless energy, commitment and passion for social and environmental good. You understand the impact of quality communications in relation to business development. You are a:
Proven Funding Expert: You have a track record of successful tender and grant applications, preferably in the NFP or social impact sector, and know how to navigate government and commercial funding landscapes.
Storyteller and Strategist: Your written communication skills are top-notch, and you know how to craft a narrative that conveys our work with clarity and conviction.
Detail-Oriented Project Manager: You’re organized, deadline-driven, and can juggle multiple applications and reporting requirements with ease and that meet all requirements.
Research Enthusiast: You’re skilled in identifying funding trends and opportunities that align with our mission.
Systems whizz: You understand that sound systems are they key to managing great processes that support teams and enable successful work and you are the ambassador of this.

Team Leader - Bush Regeneration & Landscaping

The role
Casual - the majority of our current bush regeneration work is based in Western Sydney, in the Liverpool area.
This is a unique opportunity for someone experienced in bush regeneration and is ready to share their expertise with others. The Team Leader will coordinate, supervise and coach groups of supported staff (largely young people and former refugees and asylum seekers) in the delivery of bush regeneration, rehabilitation and revegetation works in the Western Sydney area.
The main components of this role include:
collaborate with the Business Development Manager to ensure scope of works is fit for purpose and carried out to quality standards
deliver bush regeneration services on behalf of our partners
manage teams of supported staff to undertake works, using a community development and strengths-based approach
lead briefings and operational meetings
manage tools and equipment including planning, purchasing and maintaining
maintain accurate records including reports, schedules, timesheets, rosters, work health and safety
maintain excellent environmental and health and safety standards including pre-start checklists, site inductions and safe work method statements.
Conditions of employment will be guided by the Gardening and Landscaping Award and remuneration is an above award rate. As a not-for-profit, you can also increase your take-home pay through salary packaging benefits.
About you
Essential criteria:
Qualifications in Conservation and Land Management or other relevant qualification (or working towards)
At least two years' experience leading teams of people in bush regeneration activities
Ability to value, respect and work with people from diverse backgrounds, including people with employment barriers such as limited English, literacy or complex support needs
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including plain English
Well-developed skills in native flora and weed identification
Current chemical use certification (to AQF level 3 competency)
Chainsaw certificate of competency
Commitment to safe working practices
Developed planning and time management skills
Capacity to clear a NSW Working with Children Check
Current valid Driver's Licence
Rights to work in Australia
Highly desirable:
Experience working with disadvantaged populations, especially former refugees, young people and or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
Knowledge of environmental weeds and native flora in the Western Sydney and Illawarra regions.

Soft Landing ACT Manager

About the Role

Soft Landing provides social and environmental outcomes, primarily through employment opportunities and waste diversion from landfills. The role of Service Delivery ACT Manager will contribute through leadership, risk management, and cost control at our Hume site.
The ACT Manager is responsible for operational management and performance, including P&L cost lines, WHS, stockpile management, and site compliance as per the contract with ACT NoWaste. This involves leading operational teams for mattress and bed base collection, processing, and disposal. The role includes day-to-day leadership, staff development, and coordination with the People and Culture and WHS Partners on matters relating to human resources and health and safety.
Reporting to the Operations Manager NSW & ACT, the ACT Manager will support strategy development, budgeting, and monthly progress reporting. They will oversee the Team Manager and their team, which may involve supervising shifts, site operations, fleet control, logistics, and equipment. The ACT Manager performs as a positive representative of Soft Landing and its partners, contributing to efficient operations and serving as a role model. The opportunity for this role is to enhance our ability to support our customers whilst delivering outstanding outcomes at Community Resources.
About You
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a management role
Highly developed communication skills with proven ability to build relationships and communicate with a diverse range of people
Financial Management experience - strategy, budgeting, cost control, and P&L responsibility
Ability to work independently and mentor / coach others in the team
Demonstrated commitment to professional values: customer service, health and safety, fairness
Time-management, decision-making and organisational skills
High level of computer literacy skills with Microsoft Office 365
Risk-management experience
Logistics and process management experience
Ability to work under pressure to meet target commitments
Assertive and vigilant in managing workers and controlling labour costs
Strong leadership skills to delegate tasks effectively and ensure clarity of responsibilities
Experience in motivating and engaging teams to maximise productivity
Problem-solving skills to address labour or process inefficiencies swiftly and proactively
It would be good if you have:
Knowledge of or experience in the waste management industry
Understanding of disciplinary process
Frontline Management or Leadership qualification
Current driver's licence and car to drive to work.
Forklift license and experience with safety knowledge for forklift operations
This role will require standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
