NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK 2026

27 MAY - 3RD JUNE 2026

It’s National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June), a time for all of us to pause, learn and think about how we keep walking together toward reconciliation.

I’ve been thinking about this year’s theme: ‘All In’. It’s a simple phrase, but it says a lot.

Reconciliation is not something that sits with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people alone, and it’s not something that happens in one week of the year. It belongs to all of us, and it requires consistent action.

It's about how we listen, make room for different experiences, and keep building trust with each other every day.

At CR, this is already part of how we work – and I think we do it well. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and non-Aboriginal staff work together side by side across our teams, sites and services. We’re culturally diverse, united by our purpose to support people, strengthen communities and create a better future for people and planet.

That’s something we should recognise and be proud of. But reconciliation is not something we can take for granted. Being ‘All In’ means we keep making the effort.

Around 14% of our staff identify as being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and our organisation is stronger because of the knowledge, experience and leadership Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people bring to our work.

As CEO, I continue to learn through the conversations I have with Aboriginal colleagues and staff across CR. These conversations matter. They help me understand what we’re doing well, where we can keep improving, and how we can keep moving forward with care and honesty.

I encourage you to take some time this week to get involved in a way that feels meaningful to you:

Reconciliation is something we keep working on together – this week, and every day. This is especially important as CR moves toward becoming an Aboriginal-led organisation. The transition is coming together really well, and I’m looking forward to sharing some exciting updates with you soon.

Thank you for the part you each play in making CR a respectful, thoughtful and welcoming place to work.

Warm regards,
Martin Paech
