Join our Board
Join our Board!
We’re currently looking for multiple Director positions for those wanting to help us create thriving communities that value people and planet. Offering a 3-year term, it’s the perfect opportunity for experienced professionals to join our organisation in a highly influential role.
Who we’re looking for
CR is seeking expressions of interest for a number of new Board Directors to provide a full complement to a Board determined to continue delivering on our vision and mission.
Your passion for what we do is an essential part of why you’ll want to join our Board.
Your experience will show us that you’ve previously contributed your expertise in governance practices to improve strategic and organisational outcomes. As we’ve gone through many changes in recent years, you’ll also enjoy contributing to enhancing governance processes.
Our rich cultural and social connections will see you committed to and well-versed in people practices (especially inclusion and diversity) and either have, or be willing to specifically develop, Aboriginal cultural competence.
As we’re looking for a number of Directors, we need for you to bring at least one or more of the following technical capabilities to our Board:
· Financial governance
· Working history or knowledge in waste, recycling, or Fair Food sectors
· Board Governance processes and practices
· Business development background
We encourage further representation from the Illawarra region, however would accommodate great contributors from other regions.
What your commitment will look like
Your term will involve attending all board meetings and planning days, participation in one Committee, and undertake professional development.
The Board holds meetings six times per year (after hours). Committees meet between four to six times per year (during business hours) and Directors attend two days of planning early in the calendar year. Professional development is provided as required.
Our current Committees are:
Nomination and Performance
Risk and Audit
Safety and Wellbeing
Director positions are not remunerated. However, costs associated with attending meetings such as travel and accommodation are either arranged or reimbursable.
How to apply
If you have enough information and to want to join, we’d appreciate your CV and covering letter detailing why this is going to be a great opportunity.
We encourage applications from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Peoples, as well as those with culturally or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and anyone wanting to commit to improving the lives of others.
Please note Police and Working With Children checks will be required if successful.
